Skip the HD DVD and Blu-Ray War, choose VUDU

Still undecided between HD DVD and Blu-Ray? Its a tough choice but with Blu-Ray gaining new partners it seems that will be the disk of choice in the coming years. Still some movies will be HD DVD exclusive making it hard to satisfy everyone, but wouldn’t you like to skip the whole “format war”?  Wouldn’t be nice to also be able to rent HD movies and TV shows without having to drive to your local video store or waiting for the movies in the mail? Well your dreams have come true with the revolutionary device called VUDU.

VUDU is a Internet powered device that allows you to buy and rent from over 5000 movies, most of which are in stunning HD. This wonderful device features films from both HD camps like Pirates of the Caribbean and The Bourne Trilogy. The prices of the movies rival that of popular stores like Block Buster. You can rent movies from 99¢ to $3.99. To own a movie it cost from $4.99 to $19.99, cheaper then those Blu-Ray disks. The box is HD ready and it comes with an HDMI cable so you can plug it right into your HD TV. As mentioned before this product does require you to have high speed Internet, so you should check your connection speed to make sure you can download and stream movies.

Inside the box is a hard drive capable of holding up to 100 hours of videos. They do have a trick to allow you save more movies though. On the hard drive its self it only stores the first 30 seconds of a film and while that is playing it is downloading the rest of the film, kind of like a Youtube video.

As I mentioned the prices before on content you can also buy TV shows as well. Shows cost the same as they do in iTunes, $1.99, and some shows are featured in HD as well. Also one important note there is no monthly fee for this product. Once you buy it the only thing you have to pay for is the movies and shows. So how much does this cost? It is priced at $399. This is a good price considering the price of most HD movie players, and to never have to deal with scratched disks again its defiantly worth it.
