The Zune 2, one of the worst products of ‘07?

Popular Mechanics recently released their 10 Worst Gadgets of 2007 article and name the Zune 2 as one of those products. So basically they are saying that one of the top reviewed mp3 players in the past few years, well sucks. I have a serious problem with this because I am a Zune supporter to the fullest. In Popular Mechanics they try to compare it to Apple’s iPod Touch which is completely unfair, they should be comparing it to Apple’s iPod Classic or Nano. The new Zunes are just as good if not better then the Classic in every way. I am sure you can go to Amazon an search for mp3 players and find products that are far worse than the Zune. Also the Zune is so bad that so many people made the bad choice and bought every available Zune on Black Friday.
Also Popular Mechanics called the Apple TV the worst product of 2007, and the Kindle was no where found, go figure. So don’t waste your money on the Zune or Apple TV, they are crap but remember to subscribe to Popular Mechanics Magazine.

I respect your opinion, but actually the Zune is made of lower quality materials than the iPod. I would know, having dissected several of both.
I’m not saying Zune is a hunk of junk, and I’m not even saying iPod is better. I’m just saying that as far as the components that go into the two devices, the iPod has the upper hand on the quality of the materials used to make it. And another iPod advantage - it works on OS X and Windows with full support, and Linux with 3rd party support, or iTunes through WINE. Zune does not have any OS X support, or official Linux support. Zune does have a few compelling features but they still have a long way to go to dethrone the iPod as the dominant device in this market.

But you would agree that it is unfair to name is as one of the worst products of 07 right? That is what I was aiming for.
Besides I love my iPod Touch

I have a Zune 30 gig it’s not that bad. I mean Internet would be nice but I only use it for mp3 and Video I’m happy with the software upgrades and I believe the Zune can get better it just got out. If the Zune was released before the Ipod maybe People would have a zune instead.. maybe.. But whatever, I don’t think it’s one of the worst products thats taking it too far don’t ya think

I just bought their 80GB Zune and it works great for me. Maybe those who hate have a case a U.E.!
If any of you have quality problems maybe it’s the music you illegally downloaded or the fact that you can’t seem to hold on to the unit and have dropped it multiple times…either way…I don’t want all that apple crap on my PC just to listen to songs…media player works just fine and doesn’t drag my machine down like Quicktime and other apple-centric tools.
Let the apple software stay where it belongs…on a MAC!

i have had my zune for a year now and it still works great and it is even better with the zune 2 software and the firmware, and my friends are fine, but my friends that have ipods have got broken screens and batteries going so i cant see how it is Worst Gadgets of 2007 tho i do have a zune 30 but i don’t fink that the zune 2 will be rubbish and they have improved a lot in them like the battery life.
