Someone thought Leopard worked on all Intel computers? (An Amazon review of the new OS)

Some… smart guy wrote this interesting review on Amazon for the new Apple OS Leopard. Enjoy:
“I borrowed this disc from a Mac friend of mine because OS X is supposed to be designed for Intel machines now. Well as I’m sure anyone who’s tried it has found out, this doesn’t work. You still have to run OS X on an Apple machine. I think Apple is deceiving a lot of people with their marketing (although the ads with the guy who’s supposed to be a Mac and the guy who’s supposed to be a PC are pretty funny I have to admit).”
This has to be a joke right? I have never heard in a Mac commercial that it runs on all Intel machines. Either this is a clever joke or a wishful thinker, either way its pretty funny.

Apple uses a chip in there computers, this is checked by the OS X Installer. If it can’t find the chip it wont let you install Leopard. There are many cracks that can make the installer bypass this check however. Also if you get it running, it might not work right, To save space, Apple only provides drivers for the video cards it’s using. If out them, you don’t get Core Image, Core Video, or Quartz extreme. This will limit the applications you can use, and slow the whole system down.

Yeah I am aware of that. It seems the general public really isn’t informed about Macs. I mean why would they buy one when they can buy a good $200 machine running Windows, something that they know how to use.
I just wish people where more informed. 2 years ago when I bought my Dell Laptop I knew nothing about Macs what so ever. I spent all I had, $800, on the computer and now I wish I would of just bought a G4 iBook instead.

OS X does NOT run on all Intel based machines. Whoever said that is wrong or deceitful. Apple has never advertised OS X as running on any Intel system, only on Macs. The system requirements on the box specifically state that it requires a Macintosh. Yes, there are cracks out there to allow it to run on some non Macs but it is not supported and many HW devices will not work and it may be very unstable on unsupported HW.
