How to do a System Restore if explorer.exe crashes in Windows XP

If you receive the error that explorer.exe crashed when ever you boot into Windows you know how frustrating that can be, not to be able to see your desktop and only the background image,  this is a guide for doing a system restore if this happens.

1.When ever you get into the Windows environment press Alt+Ctrl+Delete.

2.From here click “File” then “New Task(run..).

3. Then  type “msconfig” (without the quotes) and click “ok”

4. When in MsConfig you can click  Launch System Restore from the general tab.

5.From this point on run through the normal System Restore questions.

After the boot your computer should go back to stable settings and allow to access your computer without any errors.
