Windows Firewall issue

So I have Windows Vista Home Premium installed on my laptop and have yet to have any serious issues with it that has hindered my usability, until now. Recently I have installed Windows Live Care and after my 90 day trail was over it was time to uninstall it, easy enough to do for anyone but after it was installed my Windows Firewall will not work at all.
I get the error saying that Windows could not start the Windows Firewall what turned from not being a big deal into something that has made me go almost crazy. Right now I cannot install the Zune Software nor connect my PC with my Xbox 360. These problems are seriously making go a little insane. How would I go about reinstalling the Windows Firewall, is there such a way? I have been to the Services part of Windows and it said that some dependences could not be started, what causes this? Is there a proper solution? Google has failed me on my search.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Have you tried opening a Command Prompt (filename: CMD.EXE) and issuing a "%windir%\system32\netsh.exe advfirewall reset" command and restart the system for the change to take effect? If so, did that solve the problem?
