Today Zune owners received an e-mail from the Zune team informing us that we will receive a new firmware and software update for our Zunes to match the new Zune 2 interface and new software build.

Here is a some of what it says,

Beginning November 13, Zune will be providing service and software updates for your device and your PC. The updates will be automatic, but you’ll need to accept the terms of service in order to receive the latest features. See the latest features

By accepting the updates, your Zune will have the same software that comes preloaded on all new devices.

Wireless Sync
Set your Zune to automatically sync with your music and video library through your home network, when docked or charging with an AC adaptor.

New Marketplace
Re-stocked with thousands of new tracks, podcasts, videos, and DRM-free MP3s.

Zune Online Community
Connect and share the music and pictures that define you.

This is great news and I am truly excited to update my Zune and software. I hope Microsoft hits a home run with these updates.
