Yes you read the title correctly I said enjoyed. I am very critical about most of Vista and with good reason but here are the top 5 things I do like about Windows Vista.
1. The Aero experience. With out a doubt Vista looks prettier then any other release of Windows to date. Luna from XP was just hideous. The see through glass is very nice and gives the overall look of the desktop a very vibrant and alive look.
2. Integrated search. I know some people have complained about the search feature but I find it a complete joy to use. Before with XP I would save a document and just loose it, now I have the very simple task of finding that file.
3. Less spy ware and Viruses. Maybe its just me but i have yet to be hit with the virus stick. Vista does a good job of keeping the bad things out of your system, and with the constant asking of your approval there should be excuse if you install bad software.
4. Updates. Windows Vista is nothing short of great when it comes to getting updates. No longer do you have to search around updates, it is all handled in the Windows Update program. The program also does a nice job of explaining what the update does as well if it is important to you or not.
5. Windows Media Center. Media Center has recieved an updated user interface with the upgrade to Vista as well as some nice new features. You can now go into Media Center and check sports scores, watch Arrested Development, and other great shows through the new beta program. To me it also seems to be a less memory hog as the Windows XP version was.
Here are 5 other things I like about Vista, but wish they were a little bit better.
- Windows Photo Gallery(A few more features like Picaso or iPhoto and this would be my favorite thing of Vista)
- Windows Movie Maker(Once again needs features like iPhoto)
- Windows DVD Maker(Just freezes uo to much)
- Windows Calander(needs serious work)
- Windows Mail(outlook is still way better, why have two different mail programs Microsoft?)
