Never put College work off until the last minute, trust me!

So today was the last day for me to complete and e-mail in some work, so big deal right? That’s what I thought until I saw all of the lovely work that had to be completed today. So what did I have to complete and turn in today? Well this list will tell you just that.

  1. A five page essay on image editing software, yes 5 pages of PhotoShop and Gimp, its as boring as it sounds, but its done!
  2. A test on two chapters, pulled a 72% on that not bad but could of done better.
  3. Finish 12 pages of work including 2 projects all of which took around four hours to do.
  4. Gear up for next week in which I have to do seven projects and complete my portfolio.

Anyone who thinks that Photoshop is fun is wrong! Just dead wrong! So lesson learned here, don’t put work off until the last minute.

(Time for some Zelda!)

What is the Zune logo supposed to mean?

I have thought the same thing for a while now and a user by the name of nickd916 asked the same thing the forums of the website ZuneScene. He started a post simply entitled Zune Logo and asked the same question as I was pondering.

So what does it mean?

Well this picture done by a Zune Scene member Crossfire says it all really, the logo actually spells out the word "Zune". It had never even occurred to me that it might actually spell out the word, kudos to Crossfire!

A Perfect Gift for the Old School Gamer

So do you have a family member who isn’t exactly up to date with video games but still loves to play the classics? Then the Atari Flashback 2.0 is for that perfect person.

51AAHB2D7ZL._AA280_

The system comes with two paddles and preloaded with over 30 classic games like Pong. Not only that but it also comes with a wood finish that resembles the original look of the classic system. I just bought this for my Grandfather for Christmas and I feel that everyone else in my family will be playing it as well.

So if this doesn’t bring back memories for you or if you have never played the Atari this gift is worth picking up. Its a gift for a person of any age and should be greatly appreciated.

Zeitgeist movie

Recently I have watched this movie and was blown away by its claims from everything from religion to government. Its a great movie for those of us who don’t expect the mainstream answer for things. While I have yet to research these claims for myself I do suggest that you watch the video(its right above this paragraph). If you have already seen the video or watching it now then please leave a comment about it on how you feel,

Lets try to get smart America.

Zune Battery Issues (Fix Inside)

(WARNING: This fix is now out-dated, please install Zune firmware 2.3 to fix this issue, thank you)
Recently my Zune has been acting crazy and the result has been a dead battery no matter how much I have charged it. The Zune would say that it was completely dead when that was not the case. Every now and then it would reboot and then just crash again, I figured out last night how to fix this problem.

  1. Restart your Zune: Hold the back button and the up button.
  2. While the Zune is restarting you now must reformat the Zune (WARNING: THIS WILL ERASE ALL CONTENT ON YOUR ZUNE DEVICE) In order to do this while the Zune is rebooting press and hold at the same time the back button, the center button, and the up button.
  3. Now your Zune should be completely erased and should sync to your computer.

I would let it charge for the night and for no on please turn off your Zune instead of letting it sleep, you can do this by holding the play button until the screen is off.Technorati Tags: ,

GameStop has $30 GameCubes

nintendo-gamecube

Today I went into GameStop looking for a Nintendo GameCube thinking that I would spend around $60 bucks and found a pleasant surprise, GameCubes where priced at $30. So after being in shock of the ultra-low price of $30 I decided to pick up more then one game. So I walked out of GameStop with Mario Sunshine and Resident Evil 4 for $47, I had a few trade ins and an Edge Card. I believe this sale ends this weekend.

So far this Black Friday I have bought a HD 22″ Monitor and a Gamecube all for under $200, its been a good weekend. I hope to find some more sales before Christmas and its looking to be a good cheap Christmas.

Update: I just bought GameCube number 2 and The Legend of Zelda: WindWaker . My brother bought  the system for my sister for Christmas and  I bought the game for myself, gotta have Link with a Nintendo system.

22" HD Monitor for $150

I just bought my Hanns-G Widescreen LCD monitor from Staples, well the folks did for me for Christmas, for the ultra-low price of $150, after a few rebates. I have been eyeing this monitor on TigerDirect for the past few months and was planning on buying it for $270 but after seeing Engadget’s Black Friday Round Up list it was too hard for me not to buy it now.

This stunning monitor has some nice features like HDMI, 1000-1 contrast ratio, and a VGA port nothing special but that’s what my Xbox 360 needs to use. So now that I have my big Christmas gift out of the way I need to find some other stuff I could use like Leopard and Mass Effect. So if you are in the market for a HD monitor you cannot go wrong this bad boy. Expect a full review of this after Christmas.

To all Lockergnome bloggers

If you would like to improve your posts and even see a live preview of your post before you publish it, then you need Windows Live Writer. Live Writer. It’s a great program for all bloggers and makes once tedious tasks a snap. You can now insert YouTube videos and even Technorati tags — all without any basic HTML knowledge. It makes blogging as simple as writing a paper in Word. You can use any WordPress blog with this program. So if you would like to improve your post and save yourself time from copying HTML and other mundane tasks, then you need Windows Live Writer.

Look how easy it is!

So if you use it, let me know what you think or if you know of any other programs that may be better then, once again, let me know via comment. Remember, I don’t always recommend Microsoft software, so this is weird for me.

Windows Live User Review

I have been using Windows Live for a few days now and for the first time in a long time, Microsoft has impressed me with software. First off Windows Live is a suite that offers Mail, Messenger, Photo Gallery, Writer, IE Toolbar, and even a Family Safety tool program. When downloading you can pick and choose what you would like to download, I choose all but the toolbar and family safety. The installation process took less then 10 minutes to complete and unlike all other Windows software no reboot was required. The first program I checked out was Windows Live Photo Gallery.

For those of you that have read my previous post you should know that I liked the Vista Photo Gallery and was saddened when I had to roll back to XP and leave it behind and Windows Live Photo Gallery looks and performs just like its Vista counterpoint. The interface is clear and simple to understand. I prefer this to any other program is manage all of my photos and the "tags" feature makes it easy to search for a certain image or even video.

Also featured in the package is the Windows Live Mail and Messenger both simple to use programs. Once again I use Mail as my primary source for checking e-mail on my XP machine. I had no issues using my G-Mail, Yahoo, or my MSN e-mail account with this. This isn’t the most powerful e-mail program I have ever used but for it being free its hard not to recommend it.  With messenger you get what you see. Its not as useful as say iChat or Google Talk but its a joy to use. I hardly use it so I can’t go to deep into it but if you want to chat then there’s no reason not to use it that I can see.

Now onto my favorite program in a long time Windows Live Writer. This piece of software is a godsend to us bloggers, I am writing this on there. It is a great program is write a blog post and makes using HTML a thing of the past. Within the software you can post a Map, Picture, Table, Tags, or even videos and get a beautiful live preview on how it will appear on your site. This makes the guessing of what a post will look like disappear. Getting your blog on there is as simple as it gets. Just post the URL to your site and type in your username and password and it will connect your blog.

I believe that over time this suite can only get better while its not a direct threat to iLife its a nice suite that you will find yourself using over and over again. While I believe there should of been a movie making program included its hard to deny the greatness of the software that it comes with.

For the first time I am giving software a 5/5. Microsoft hit a home run with this, lets see if they can keep it.
