Do You Still Buy CDs?

Wow, I can’t believe I just realized that I haven’t bought a single CD at a store this year, which is just crazy. I used to collect CDs and couldn’t wait to go the store and pick them up the day they come out, so what changed? The Zune store turned into my only source for music, granted I still buy CDs from local bands at shows but thats different. Every day I can just load up a program and for $15 a month I can get access to just about any song/CD you can think of. So I was thinking do people still buy CDs?
I mean what is they point of owning a hard copy of music? If it breaks it breaks you can’t replace it for free like you can with the Zune Store or even iTunes. Now with the pushing of DRM free music I believe very soon that music CDs will be a thing of the past. Also with the pushing of selling music online many artist don’t need record labels to help produce and sell their music. So just think we might be telling our kids what “CDs and Record Labels” were.
So do you still buy CDs? I would love to know just leave it as a comment!

I do still. Like to have the booklet and well I don’t really like hooking up my mp3 player to my car. That’s mainly it though, I buy them so I can listen to them in my car.

I buy a few each month. I don’t like mp3 sound - it is nowhere near high fidelity, and I like having a ‘hard copy’ so I can replaced CDs damaged by portable play, or car abuse.

mp3’s are cool but I like buying CD’s, Vinyls and Tapes.
I like the sound and the look of CD’s.

I still prefer CDs because of the full sound fidelity. On standard music systems MP3s sound ok. On nicer sound systems, that compressed sound will come out missing warmth, clarity and depth. With the original recorded CD, I can then make mp3s for my lower end audio devices.
If downloaded music starts becoming available for purchase at full quality, then I would mot likely switch.
