Why Aren’t There More Games Like Braid and Portal?

So.  Yeah.  I was introduced to the game Braid around the middle of last year and absolutely fell in love with it.  Never before had I seen or played anything quite like it, yet it somehow felt familiar and since then I’ve yearned for more games like it.  Then just a week ago a friend of mine finally talked me into getting The Orange Box, and while Half Life 2 is no doubt a fun game itself, it was the game Portal, included on the disk, that I found myself loving the most.  I’ve beaten both games and have even taken up re-playing them but there is really nothing quite like playing an awesome game for the first time…

And while I had planned on writing an extremely long post (okay, maybe only four or five paragraphs), I stumbled across this article that really sums up everything that need be said.

Hopefully more similar genre games will arrive in the near future (or if YOU know of one — or more — that already exists please feel free to share!) but for now I can only sit, dreaming about that new game smell.
