Poor kiddies

Saturday morning a heavy blaze tore through a two story townhouse. Due to this 6 cats that lived in the townhouse died.

911 calls directed Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to the corner of Northeast 193rd Street and 25th Avenue around 11:30 to respond to a townhouse fire.

Two occupants living in the home escaped harm and were outside when firefighters arrived. Leonard Worman said “It spread so fast, and there was so much smoke.”

The flames were kept within the first floor, but smoke and heat lead to compelling damage to the second floor. Luckily, the closes by residences were not troubled by the fire. Neighbors went to the rescue trying to help rescue the cats; Maxine said, “I saw smoke coming out of the house, and I saw the owners coming out yelling, ‘Someone call 911!’.”

Six of the sixteen cats in the residence died on the seen. However, 10 cats did make it out of the residence alive, four cats sadly ran away once they made it outside. Which leaves the poor woman with only six of the sixteen cats that she started with!

The owner of the home said that the fire was caused by a candle making contact with a very parched Christmas tree. Worman said that his wife was German, and it is their custom to at the end of the season light a candle or two on the tree.

For the next three days the Red Cross will be providing the family with food, shelter, and clothing.

Question for the day: If your home was on fire, you had 25 seconds to get out. Your pet was somewhere hiding scared. You needed to make a quick decision on weather you were to look for your pet or leave hoping that your pet got out… What would you do under these circumstances?
