I was reading an article on my local newspaper’s website titled “Money Saving Advice: Get it fixed, don’t throw it out.”

How many of you are getting things repaired rather than throwing them out? Every spring I take my lawn mower to a repair shop so the blades can be sharpened and so the engine can be looked at. Normally this takes about 1 week for the guy to do. This year it took 3 weeks because so many people are repairing their lawn mower rather than throwing them out. I also have a pair of old work boats that are really comfortable and every spring I take them to a shoe repair shop. Normally, if I take them to them in the morning, I can keep them up before the shop closes at the end of the day. This year it took I had to wait until the end of the next day to pick them up.
If you are in the repair industry, is your business booming? As a technology enthusiast I am always trying to the most out of my computer. My last computer lasted me for 5 years. I had to upgrade RAM, the graphics/video card, the hard drive, and optical drives, but the processing power itself lasted me for 5 years.
Times are tough now and people are starting to save and reuse things that they would normally just throw away. Have you started to get things fixed? Feel free to leave any other comments for others to read.
