Facebook has more users than MySpace

TechCrunch is reporting that Facebook now has more worldwide users than MySpace.

This doesn’t really surprise me.  Once Facebook opened it’s doors to pretty much anyone, it would only be a matter of time until it had more users.  According to TechCrunch, both services are pulling in +/- 115 million users.  That is a lot of people.

I have both a Facebook account and a MySpace account (both URLs are below) and while I find both to be annoying, I believe that Facebook is a better service.  It offers more privacy and better organization.  If you are looking for an analogy, I would consider Facebook to be Apple and MySpace to be Microsoft.  I say this because Facebook is simple, gets the job done, and just works while MySpace is busy, awkward, annoying, and clumsy.

Now the last two sentences are my opinion and I don’t expect you to agree with me.  Both services allow for customization, just like Apple and Microsoft, but Facebook doesn’t allow you to completely change the overall appearance of your profile, MySpace does.

Do you have an account with Facebook and/or MySpace?  Which service do you think is better? Why?   Which service do you think is worse?  Why?  If you have any other comments, feel free to post them for others to read.
