I think I have found my new picture management for OS X: Picasa

I have been a Windows user for quite some time and have been looking for a simple picture importing software management too for OS X. Well Picasa for Mac showed up on our doorstep a couple of weeks ago. Here is a short video on why I chose Picasa.

if you only want to import pictures to a folder why not use Image Capture, it’s part of OS X and can be found in the applications folder.

It may seem nitpicky, but it’s OS X — with a space in there. :)

That is another alternative (Image Capture) but it lacks a bit of the naming features that I was used to in Windows. Directory and file naming was very clean in Windows allowing your files to carry a date if you wish. I put my files in a folder named with the date that I import them. I also name the files with the same name_00#.

As for spelling it OS X with a space… I totally agree and I had thought I did that. Where did I go wrong?

Thanks for the comments guys, invite others to come on in and read too ;)
