Where Do You Get Your Desktop Wallpaper?

I like to change it up every once in a while and put a new wallpaper on my computer. Usually I take something that is pertinant to the seasons or something going on in my life. Right now in my neck of the woods we have had our first real snow fall and the big bad winter is coming. So I decided to go with this one:

Snowy Pine

This and many more of my wallpapers come from a website called InterfaceLIFT. A great site that not only has good quality images but also has them in different formats. There are other sites out there that have nice images but I have not really found one that organizes them as well as InterfaceLIFT. You will find wallpaper in standard 4:3 format, wide screen format, and dual monitor format.

I also want to give an honorable mention to Digital Blasphemy. They have some great wallpapers that have been created rather than photographed. Not all of them are completely up my ally but I can appreciate their quality.

So get out there and change your wallpaper. It’s nice sometimes to look at something a little different.

I’ll “get a wild hair” and Google my favorite TV show, movie, cartoon, etc. I’ve never had trouble finding wallpaper or a *.wav clip for start up.

Among some of my favorites are Looney Tunes, Gumby, the Sta-Puft marshmallow guy from Ghostbusters, the Firefly TV series and more.

And it took a little searching, but I found the “meep-meep” sound the road runner makes and had it on start up for a while.

Just wanted to add a thanks for the links to these sites. I suppose the reason that I enjoy wallpaper so much is because it reminds me of the old LP record album artwork which that I love.

I don’t suppose that anyone out there knows of a site that has converted those old album covers to wallpaper? I’ve looked but haven’t found one yet.

I use Webshots. There’s a free version that lets you download so many a day and a paid version that allows unlimited downloads. I mainly use the professional photos but occasionally the amateur ones. You install their photo manager and off you go! Quick and easy and there are so beautiful pics!

I use John’s Background Switcher http://www.johnsadventures.com/software/backgroundswitcher/ it has plenty of options.
As a keen photographer the ability to select a genre from different sites enables me to be inspired by photos I would never see normally. If one appears that you don’t like it is a simple matter to click “Don’t show again”
