I got home from work yesterday, and my Leopard Upgrade DVD was in the mailbox. I was able to qualify for the $9.95 upgrade option since I bough my MacBook earlier this month (October). Since it was the upgrade DVD, I pretty much had to do an upgrade instead of the clean install. It took almost an hour to fully upgrade (Macbook 13″, 2.16 Intel Core 2, and 2 GB Ram). I was quite happy with how smooth the whole process went. There was no Blue Screen error like many have reported on the upgrades (Yea!!!).
There was only one problem. When connecting to my secure wireless network, I would be able to connect to the internet. I would then close the MacBook, and would not be able to connect to the internet when opened again (I was always able to do this before). After playing with some setting, I then went and put the wireless network password in the system again and had to problems. I was able to connect to my secure work wireless with no problems.
I give the upgrade process a rating of 9 out of 10. This has certainly rated higher than any Microsoft Windows upgrade. Now it is time to play with Leopard.
