iPhone 3g sells exceed Apple’s Server Capacity

Regardless wether you were trying to update to 2.0 or activate you iPhone you encountered problems Friday, July 11. Apple and at&t were not ready for that many people to come flocking to their servers to get the new iPhone Firmware. So no this blog post is not to tell you about what you already this is about what Apple could have done to make things a bit smoother.

  • Apple could have not released half the world in one day. They could have staggered the updates throughout the week or something to keep the load on the severs down.
  • Apple should have devoted all their servers to one thing. If you go to Apple’s website it should have said click here to upgrade and that is all. They could have taken the rest of the iTunes store off-line for a day.
  • AT&T Should have trained the clerks how to activate the iPhones better. They also could have just let you go home and activate them.
  • Also Apple should have posted a Sorry letter on their website and given the people an application on the iPhone free.
  • Apple could have let the current iPhone and iPod Touch owners update a day before so on Friday New owners would be all.
  • If you have any comments if rants you would like to post feel free to.
