- The Mac came in first with a start up time of 56 Sec.
- The PC came in second with a start up time of 1:25, but the desktop pulled up in 1:08
This test includes Apple Mac OS X 10.5.3 vs. Windows XP SP2. The PC has a 3.01 AMD Athlon Processor with 3GB of RAM. The Mac Mini has 1.83 Intel Core Duo Processor with 1GB of RAM. Ironic that with 1/2 the power of the PC the Mac still starts faster. I waited until all the virus software loaded etc the desktop and start bar actually loaded in 1:08 so still slower. Both of these computers had been off all day and had not been shut down improperly.
