Browser Wars.

I have chosen to take a different approach to this than many other blogs have. I am going to tell you what the best and what the fastest browser is for each platform. I word it like that because the fastest is not always the best. To start off I have eliminated Netscape and AOL. So the browsers are Firefox, Safari, Opera, and IE7. From the experience I have had I have not been impressed with opera. It is too slow and bulky. So the real warriors are Firefox, Safari, and IE7. Below I will name each browser ad their browsing capabilities to give you an idea of what they can do.

  1. The first is Firefox. It is a good browser and I use it on my Windows machines. It is fast and has plugins. I also have to give it credit for the way it lets you know it lets you know you are missing a plugin. (3 of five) It still has many bugs as it is in beta testing.
  2. The next is Safari. If you don’t know you can also get Safari for Windows. It is a good, fast, solid browser that is pretty advanced considering that it is was first released in 2003. It has all the features you would want in a browser. (4 fo 5). It has trouble opening some pages.
  3. The last is IE7. It is slow I mean slow. It comes on Windows and is ok, but I would suggest Firefox instead. (2 of 5). It also has trouble opening some of the pages that involve more flash and java aps.

It is close to call, but it is close between Firefox and Safari. For mac I would suggest Safari. For Windows it depends on what you like. If you just want a stable browser with speed and functionality you should got with Safari. If you want an open source browser with many plugins and much functionality, you should get Firefox. My vote is Safari. Please vote on the poll Poll Here
