New Venture for Steve Case

Being on a ventilator 24/7 and loving technology as I do. I belong to several disability and health related message boards. I got a link the other day to a web site that Steve Case, formally of AOL has started. It is called Revolution Health. It is a website where individuals can find others with similar chronic conditions, evaluate local hospitals and medical professionals. I looked at the site and registered for a free membership yesterday. The first year is free and after that there is a membership fee.
Apparently Case started this venture in 2005. Some of the board of directors are Colin Powell, former Secretary of State and Carly Fiorina, the former chairman and CEO of HP.
I am not sure if I am going to like it, but the general idea is great. There are so many people out there that need and want to share their stories with others in similar situations. The down fall is the annual fee. Not a lot of people with chronic medical conditions can afford such a thing. The verdict is still out on this one.
We will see how it goes.
More later.

By no means is this an endorsement from me.

I work at Revolution Health and hope you find the web site useful to connect with others who share your condition. I also wanted to let you know that the RevolutionHealth.com site is free, so anyone can join the community. The telephone based membership services you mentioned do have a low monthly fee associated with them, but they’re free for the rest of 2007 for you to try. I hope you find support and information from both.

Just a quick clarification… the website is free and will continue to remain so. The membership product is being given away free for 2007 for those that sign up now.
