Asus Eee PCDear All

              I should probably start by admitting that I don’t even own an Asus EeePC. However I love the concept. The asus eeepc is a sub £250 laptop with more than enough power to run web browsing apps and generally most day to day applications you would use everyday. Now you couls argue that there are plenty of wifi phones and devices that already do this!  However the N95 doesn’t have a qwerty key pad so is no use for prolonged typing and the IPhone has a keypad but I wouldn’t want to write something longer than this blog on it. Then there is the ultra portable PC’s, well there all breath taking gadgets but with £600 plus price tags why would you bother. Even Nokias new 810 at £300 doesn’t match the Asus Eee Pc’s specs. 

In terms of size its perfect. A 7inch screen and slightly shrunk key pad may seem small but its better than seeing only part of a web page on the Iphone and more protable than your average laptop. It has a solid state HDD so starts up in seconds and no moving parts (no optical drive) so very little heat is produced. Yeah it only has 4gb of storage but stick in a SD card theres another 4gb! I could put this in a small shoulder bag and take it to work with me, without having a bag mainly filled with a laptop. Its the size of a book. I could write a blog on its word processor to put online when i next hit a wifi hot spot or when I’m home. I could stick the album I’m listening to on it and listen to that as I type. I could stick a few small games on it maybe transport tycoon or sim city.

Now your probably saying, I could do that with my laptop but unless you paid £1300 plus it won’t be as small and useful as this. I believe the spec/size/ price make this device unbeatable. I want one, I’ve used loads of Asus tech and always been very impressed with build quality. So I guess my first ever blog is getting my love of this new dvice off my chest!
