This tutorial was written utilizing Outlook 2003. Older and newer versions should be somewhat similar. Click the images to enlarge them.
1) Open Outlook.
2) From the left hand side of the window select, “Contacts”.
3) Press CTRL+A to select all of your contacts.
4) Click, “File” then, “Import and Export…”.
5) In the “Import and Export Wizard” select “Export to a file” and click “Next”.
6) In the “Export Personal Folders” window select “Contacts” and click “Next”.
7) In the next window click “Browse” and select “Desktop”. Don’t worry about the file name. Select the “Allow duplicate items to be created” and click “Finish”.
8) In the “Create Microsoft Personal Folders” window click, “OK”.
9) Wait patiently until the hour glass disappears then go to your Desktop and your file should be there (default file name is backup.pst).
That should do it. You have now successfully backed up your Microsoft Outlook Contacts. You can burn it to a disc, e-mail it to yourself or a friend, or upload it to the Internet to share with others.
