Spammer Going to Prison

  • No Related Post

According to the BBC a brother and sister spamming duo has been sentenced for sending hundreds of thousands of e-mails to AOL users. Jeremy Jaynes is going to send nine years in prison while his sister is going to pay a $7,500 fine. The formal sentencing will take place next year. A third suspect by the name of Richard Rutkowski was acquitted.

What’s the best part about this? All three of these individuals lived in North Carolina and were prosecuted in the state of Virginia.

Yea!!! Let the spammers pay! I don’t care if they actually go to jail or not, but I think they need to pay some hefty fines.

I’m curious how they got caught? I thought it was relatively hard to trace spam.
