Further Organization

I wrote an article titled, Disorganized Blogs: The Cancer of the World Wide Web in which I mentioned I was trying to organize my blogs better.

I just completed a round of organization tasks here at chrisshort.net. In the sidebar on the home page you’ll notice the addition of a new “section” titled chrisshort.net. The proceeding categories listed below that are in addition to the “News and Information” category for chrisshort.net that is listed under Web Projects. This allows chrisshort.net to be easily navigated and provides an improved focus on the subjects covered on this site.

Here are descriptions of the new categories:
Blogging - This category will provide information on blogging, how to run and maintain a blog, the benefits of weblogs, and ideas on how the blogosphere can better maintain itself.

Commentary - This category will provide Chris Short’s thoughts, ideas, and breakdowns of technical issues and projects.

Gaming - This is a fairly self explanatory category.

Miscellaneous - If it doesn’t go anywhere else, it goes here.

News - Technology news that effects Chris Short or that should have more exposure.

Search Engine Optimization - This categories provides tips, tricks, and other useful information related to search engine optimization and marketing.

In addition to these categories I’ve also added a new class in the chrisshort.net stylesheet. It allows me to “frame” blocks of text so that articles with quotes from other sources can be better distinguished as well as separating what I’ve said and what others have said.

So when someone other than Chris Short is quoted on this site it will appear in a box like this.

That’s about as much organization I can do in one day. I hope everything flows a little better as well as helps individuals navigate chrisshort.net better.
