“We want to talk to Google about this and see if there’s a way we can make it work”.

Said Mark Zuckerberg at a news conference in Tokyo. The big social networking site Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, wants to sit with google to talk about Friend Connect.

Google Friend Connect allows Web site operators to add social networking functions to their Web sites. Users visiting the sites will be able to interact with new people or existing friends from social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut and Plaxo. It’s the possibility of data redistribution to third-party sites by Google that caused Facebook to block access, it said last week. ~ PCworld.com

Facebook’s CEO continued to say:

“Part of the issue with Google’s Friend Connect is that when users grant access to Google’s product, Google might share their information with another application, or some part of it, maybe not all of it, without that user knowing. And part of what makes our system work is that people know exactly who they are sharing all their information with”.

I guess with that said, Google and Facebook could make one friendly partners. Let’s hope for the best for all parties involved (users included, of course).

Actually, Sega’s no a newcomer when it comes to developing video game consoles. In fact, it had already developed two or three consoles (Saturn and Dreamcast), but two had gravely failed!

I honestly believe that if Sega would do a great, unbelievably good features that it would actually succeed in the console war. Who needs a fourth console if it didn’t have anything new to offer to the market and gamers?
If Sega didn’t offer anything new, no one will buy their new-would-be-console. What do you think? I’m interested in knowing who actually would welcome Sega if it did actually make a new console!

Hey, it’s been long since I was here last time.

I wanna talk about MMORPGs nowadays, just as the title suggests

I have some experience in MMORPG games and have formed some thoughts about them. MMORPGs in general have one thing in common as far as I’m concerned and that’s linear gameplay! Yeah, linear gameplay. How you ask? Well, MMORPGs are semi-symmetrical in how they approach gamers.

They offer some crappy background story (lore) : No one (and by no one I mostly mean myself cuz I can’t possibly know how everyone feels!) reads these stories as they serve no true meaning to the gamer in terms of gameplay or quality of the play. Who cares if some god is fighting another for the control of Earthlings?

They actually offer no storyline: It might be surprising so some, but MMORPG don’t offer any real storyline whatsoever! I mean if that’s not linear, I don’t know what is! (come to think of it, labeling MMORPGs as linear is kind of misleading since it suggests that MMORPGs actually have storylines).

They offer the same no-brain, automated battle system: I’m actually sick of point-and-click all over the map! When I click, I expect to be rewarded with the opportunity to actually kill the thing! But no, that’s where I’m wrong! I’ve been proven so many times that I gave up looking anymore!

They offer some repetitive quest types: It’s either kill x monsters, collect x items or find someone. It’s that simple!

They offer no way to have a sense or feeling of satisfaction that comes from finishing things: MMORPGs don’t offer no true satisfying ending to your long slaved hours over the keyboard! (acutally the mouse, because that’s where you do most of the work). I’d like for once to feel like I’ve finished a MMORPG rather than be bored to death waiting for some reason to quit the game (mostly a new MMORPG releasing).

They offer three options:Either grind your days to death, collect stuff and power-up equipment and become a top salesman or simply chat and find friends to hang out with. So, did any one notice there’s no GAME related option?

Anyways, I should say that I’ve found two interesting games.

AoC (Age of Conan) which has the long sought after real-time battle system and actual single player content! This game deserves a top ranking and a lot of applause just for these two features!! This game has a fee (monthly I’d guess) upon its release, the game is still in Beta phase.

Mabinogi which also has a real-time battle system. It also claims to feature a fantasy life meaning you could fish, work, go to school, learn music and even farm! Sound pretty cool to me and it’s worth a try, but I can’t because of region limitations!

Square Enix is having a contest in which winners will get the Crisis Core soundtrack! It’s very interesting if you ask me, but there’s a problem. I can’t participate because I’m not a citizen of US, Europe or Asia. Where DO I live? you ask? Well, I live in Egypt, which is in Africa. So, I contacted Square Enix about it and all they had to say is to check again maybe I’m listed in their countries, which I’m not! So, what should I do now? I can’t even order from any site that’s listed in the Square Enix site! I’m screwed! I just feel like I’m in another part of the universe, not the world.

I guess I’ll have to download the whole damn thing! I mean how do they expect us to buy their products when they don’t even give us support? Now, I want to buy Crisis Core but can’t, why? ‘Cuz I’m not listed in their to-service countries. This just sucks!

I was browsing through the ever expanding sea of videos over youtube.com when I noticed something interesting. I found a Vblog of Allison Mack! Yeah, Allison Mack herself. For all of you who don’t know who Allison Mack is, then I’d suggest you go and watch a little series called “Smallville”. The series is about a young Clark Kent (if you don’t know who’s Clark Kent, I really suggest you plunge yourself with something! ) . Allison Mack has the role of being Clark’s best friend. Aside from that, she’s a very beautiful young woman.

Anyways, I found this supposed-to-be official Vblog of her. I’ve seen her answering some questions from viewers and so. But what amazed me the most, is the fact there IS a connection with a star! She may not be a 5-star star… Sorta speak, but she is a star nonetheless! I liked the fact that we could contact her ( being one of favorite actresses, well sort of… ).

Isn’t it exciting to be able to hear and see young stars and not feel like they are some strange species that live in Hollywood and can’t be interacted with unless you want some fat bodyguard jumping all over your ass!

I maybe out of reality here, but hey, that’s how I feel! Do you feel the same way?

I’ve found a somewhat really good solution to the NetCut problem. It’s in changing your network card’s MAC address! If you don’t know what’s a MAC address, well guess what? I don’t either! Even though a quick trip to Wikipedia.org would solve the problem, but I’m just way too lazy!

Well, you need to change your MAC address, right? “How do I do that?”, you might ask. Well, I found a program that would do all the magic tricks for you!

The program’s name is : “a-Mac Address Change”. In the trial version, you only get to change your address to one address only, but that’s already enough! You just change the MAC address once to that new address and when you get NetCutted again, you just revert to your old MAC address, neat, no?

Get a Free Audio Book

Are you tired of reading books? Me too. Over the years, I developed pulpuslaceratapohobia - and the only known cure for that is Audible. Finally, a way to digest words without actually having to read them. Professional voices are wonderful choices if you love literary works in audio format. Are you ready to read some audio books? Maybe you should just listen to them instead.

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
