CarPool

Some time ago I ran across some of Robert Llewellyn’s YouTube videos.  If you don’t know, he is the actor that played Kryton on Red Dwarf, hosted Junk Yard Wars, and narrated numerous How Do They Do It shows.  Recently he has begun a rather interesting show called CarPool that he films from his car and edits himself.  The premise is simple.  Give people a ride in his car to wherever they are going and have a chat with them.  There is no script, nothing is prepared, he simply chats.  Sounds pretty boring, doesn’t it?  It’s not.

He gets well known and not so well known people to ride in his vehicles — usually a hybrid or completely electric vehicle — and the discussions are very thought provoking.  Some of the people he has had in the car recently are Doug Coleman, Brian Cox, Leo Laporte (ya, I said his name), numerous electric car manufacturers, and most recently Patrick Stewart.

I highly suggest giving it a listen and a watch.  It’s available on numerous platforms including iTunes, YouTube, and of course Llewtube!
