What does the “Windows” key do?
If you have a Windows keyboard you have two keys with the company logo on them. I use it at work to lock my computer before I go on my breaks (Windows + L) and I got to wondering what other things it is used for. Here’s a small list, let me know of any others you use.
1. Windows + E opens a new Internet Explorer window.
2. Windows + D Minimizes all windows and shows the desktop. Do it again and it reopens all windows.
3. Windows + F Opens the find all files box.
4. Windows + R Opens the run command.
5. Windows + Pause/Break Opens system properties
6. Windows + U opens the utilities menu.
One more shortcut I use a lot at work is ALT + TAB. This toggles between open windows and comes in handy when you need to switch between windows or programs quickly.

Win Key + L = Lock Workstation
Win Key + Tab = Aero Flip thingy in Vista /7
As with Alt-Tab, Win Key + Tab also goes backwards with the Shift key
Win Key + P = Monitor / Presentation settings
Win Key + D = Also shows Desktop like +M but doesn’t restore it.
Err..there’s more but I can’t think for now
