New Nokia Cell Phones
Let’s face it, Nokia has been lacking when it comes to devices for the business person. This market seems to be dominated by RIM (Makers of the Blackberry). Moday, however, Nokia introduced 2 new devices aimed at the cooperate user.
The new sliding model E66, and the E71 with full keyboard start shipping in July and have a retail price tag of about $500. The price does not include discounts from carriers or taxes.
Both new Nokia phones will have 3.2 megapixel cameras and built-in GPS receivers for navigation.
The Nokia E71 is 10 millimeters thick — the thinnest phone with a full QWERTY keyboard in the world, Nokia said.
“Users around the world, in general, have started to use more and more QWERTY devices,” Soren Petersen, a director at Nokia’s devices unit, told a news conference.
It’s about time Nokia developed new devices. If I’m correct, it’s been almost a year since the development of the E51, the last business phone introduced, by Nokia. Nokia is the largest seller of mobile phones, but if they don’t get their act together and start developing new devices with features that their customers want, they will fall out of that number 1 spot. Look how long it took them to develop a flip phone. These 2 devices are a step in the right direction though.
