Netflix Movie Player

Someone posted about this already but I thought I would expand a little on this.

Netflix now offers a device that streams movies directly to your TV.  The device, manufactured by Ronko, allows live streaming to your TV from any Netflix account that is over $9.99/month.  The device itself costs $99.99, a one time payment.  The movies are included in your Netflix account.

Using a high speed Internet connection, or wireless connection, you connect it directly to your TV, power it up, log into your Netflix account and choose from a 10,000 movie strong library.  The movie/TV Show you choose is not downloaded to the device, but streamed in, so it does take time for it to access the servers and get the information.  Also, when you rewind or fast forward, it takes some time for it to find its place.  You won’t find new releases in the library but there are plenty of movies and TV shows to choose from that will keep you entertained.  Netflix continues to send DVDs from your queue, same as always.

There are already demos and other videos on YouTube discussing this device and I highly recommend you check them out.

Personally, I think this is going to be the future of TV and I am very excited about it.  I plan on getting one soon and I will then record an un-boxing.  Prime Time will now be any time.  Look for this to take off like a gun shot and the amount of movies to increase, as well as the time it takes to stream.
