This is a list that I will be sending to Chris Pirillo in the near future. Cell phone companies charge for everything from information (up to $1.79 per call) to downloading ring tones. this is a list of things you can do with your cell phone completley free of charge. Ok, so it does use your minutes in some cases, but it still saves some money.
1. 1-866-FRUCALL: If you’re in a store and wondering if your getting a good deal, call this number and enter the product bar code, it will tell you what product it is and what online merchants are selling it for.
2. GOOGL: Send a text message to GOOGL (46645) with just about any search query such as “Chinese”, “Time Square”, or “Weather 11234″. You will recieve a text message back from the search company.
3. 1-800-555-TELL: Works much like the GOOGL service, except it gives you the information in voice. You will be walked through menus to find what you are looking for.
4. 1-800-FREE-411: This is one of my favorites. This works almost exactly like calling 411, with the exception that you have to listen to 1 or 2 SHORT commercials. You avoid the bloated charge that phone companies slam to you for features that you will never use.
5. HOUSE: No, not the TV show about the genious doctor. This nifty diddy helps you when buying a house. If you see a House for Sale sign, text the address to HOUSE (46873) and it will send you a text message with square footage, number of rooms, price, and more.

SWEET!
Free is always good! I have used the free 411 before and it works great. Actually for free what can you complain about? It is sure better than paying a couple of bucks and not getting the number you wanted anyways!!!
