What’s New? Knee Surgery And Bruce’s Blog, That’s What!

  • No Related Post

Sorry about the long break in posting, ladies and gents. I have been fighting an old nemesis this summer: My knees. Spent weeks on serious pain meds waiting for the ortho and insurance to decide what to do. Last week, the ortho finally did minor surgery on my right knee.

What did he do? He started with a simple scope of the left knee, which revealed a tear in the cartilage and meniscus. He cleaned that up. While he had me there, he also removed two screw from that leg from a prior surgery.

Healing is going well. The scope swelling is almost gone. I am walking short distances without help, longer distances with a cane/walking stick. The incision for the screw removal itches and looks nasty, but is starting to heal. I am down to once a day on pain meds, with lots of rest/sleep for healing. I hope to be back up to full speed by early next week.

The interesting thing is that while I have been down, Bruce has picked up a family habit. He now is blogging! HIs blog, “Computer Gladiator”, is found on LIve Spaces. He wanted to play around with the interface over there, so he created a space and has been populating his blog. His blog is going to be a reflection of him: Computer hints and helps, with the odd outdoor cooking hint thrown int. You can check him out here: Bruce Jacobs, the Computer Gladiator

(Be sure to check out the picture of him on his space… It is from a trip we took to Hawaii. Maybe he’ll tell the story of it if people ask!)
