What’s Kathy Been Up To?

Has it really been three months since I last blogged? The time went by so fast that I can’t believe it! I didn’t mean to go this long between posts. The good thing is that I have so much to blog about that you should see more from me over the coming weeks!
December was spent dong the Arizona Association of Computer Clubs (www.azacc.org) tour on SnagIt from TechSmith. I visited over 30 user groups in 24 days. I had the fun of showing many, many computer users how SnagIt can help them, even if they aren’t corporate users. If you want to learn about some of the things I showed off, see this entry from Betsy Weber’s blog - She and I did a screen cast about the tour when we saw each other in January.
After spending the holidays in Iowa, Hubby and I went to the APCUG conference in Las Vegas. APCUG is an organization dedicated to helping peer to peer computer user groups reach their membership. That’s where the meet up with Betsy happened.
The rest of January was eaten up with completing my upcoming Excel book and doing launch things for Office 2007. Which takes us to February… and the tour again… Office 2007 this time, and 38 presentations in 22 days. I think I am toured out!
After the tour, we did an Ask the Experts booth at CUE’s (Computer Using Educators) conference in Palm Springs. Next week, the MVP Summit in Seattle.
Why tell you all of this? Because I have learned a lot over the last few months. My next few blog posts will be on some of that learning. Before I go there, I want to know: Have you seen any advertising for Office 2007? You haven’t? Neither have I! Why are ads for Vista, but not for Office?
My opinion: MS knows that there are parts of Office 2007 that will sell themselves. I am not saying it is a perfect program, but it is a WOW inspiring program… Much more so than Vista. People see Vista and say, “OK. Nice to know. Will think about it.” People see Office 2007 and say “WOW - I can do that!” What do you think?
