Believe me when I say that I love Linux, but after taking a look at the Linux Administration test at Brainbench, I thought better of embarrasing myself by taking it. I consider that a good thing, actually, for two reasons. First, it shows me that I really don't know as much about Linux as I would like to (i.e. great incentive to study), and second, you can bet your sweet bippy that when you see someone that has taken and passed the FREE test, you're staring directly at someone that knows what they're talking about. There's even some questions about one of my absolute favorite apps, VMWare, in the section about transitioning from Windows.
X-Servers and Clients, filesystems, run levels, RAID, multi-boot, partitioning, kernel compiling, performance/resource optimization, clustering, printing, HTTP, DNS, Mail, scripting, firewalls, NAT, password management, quotas and SAMBA are on the long list of concepts covered, but that's only a partial list! Do you know Linux? Show me! Want to know Linux? A cert prep is available for this exam, which will help you prepare for the challenge.
