Nokia X6: Perhaps Finally the iPhone Killer?

Ok, sonall of the above does sound pretty cool and as a previous Nokia owner who never ever bought any other phone make, until the iPhone that is, I have to ask, what if any, will the App capabilities be on the X6? There was no mention in this report or even a hint at App capabilities. So until there is, I reckon the iPhone is safe from any ‘Killer’ devices. I actually believe there never will be an iPhone killer because Apple just keep improving. Going from strength to strength.

Gonna need more info to call it even an iphone competitor.. Touchscreen and storage/music is not enough.

Any word on the web browsing capabilities? To me that would make a whole lot difference if it can provide the real-web feel.

Dude, you too? Look, with as many units as it’s sold it is sold it is too late for ANYTHING to be an iPhone killer. The next device needs to not target the iphone market but hit a new sweet spot entirely. Killing iPhone right now is like killing TV right now. It’ll be a slow death brought on by game-changing innovations, new technologies and a change in consumer appetites; not a single new device that plays on the EXACT same field. Everybody keeps bandying about this ludicrous notion of an iPhone killer. It’s silly really. I expected more nuanced commentary from you.

It didn’t say anything about applications which the iPhone has, I don’t see how this phone is a killer then.

The battery life claims are interesting, but to me sound somewhat unrealistic. As for the camera – it’ll be just like every other mobile phone camera device – useless. It doesn’t matter who make the optics if the sensor is tiny and the lens is too close to it! Like Scotty says “You cannae change the laws of physics…”

Also… realistically speaking even if it could be the iphone Killer (which, lets face it, without a robust app store it won’t be) it’d be patricide. These things aren’t iPhone’s competition -they’re iPhone’s LEGACY. Without the iPhone none of them would exist in their current forms.

This arguement about the iPhone killer reminds me or a similar argument in sports. Who is the next Michael Jordan, is it Kobe, no wait maybe Lebron James. It is a pointless arguement the Nokia X6 will just make Apple and Steve Jobs take the next step, just as the iPhone has made the other phone makers do, look at all the imitations that have followed, the eternity, BB storm, palm pre, etc. It will only make the market better for competition!

Erm no. I didn’t hear any mention of an app store or the fact that someone other than nokia are building the phone. What makes the iPhone awesome is the user experience. The fact that the iPhone is so easy to use! It fast, rarely crashes, extremely intuitive and the touchscreen is one of the best ever used. But what really excels with th iPhone is the unexplainable polish u feel in everything you do on the iPhone. It just works. I’ve owned many nokias’s in my time and they consistently feel plastic pieces of trash that are slow and unuseable. Nokia needs some usabity training before they’ll be able to build an iPhone killer…dumping endless amounts of gadgets an so called better hardware just won’t cut it. Rant out.

So I think, from what you guys say, that it’s safe to conclude that if the X6 was to be a potential iPhone killer it’s going to have at least an App store….

However, would some of you agree that it’s maybe not an app store it needs, but something new and revolutionary?

I never heard so much hogwash from Apple fans in my life. I have not seen the full spec of the X6 yet, but coming from Nokia, I guess it will be using the Symbian Operating system. If you have not noticed yet – there is no other mobile Operating system that has so many Applications available all over the internet, many of them free. I suggest we wait for the X6 to appear on the shelves, before we throw it into the garbage.

P.S. the Nokia 5800 is SUPER – and it does not need a ‘Jailbreak’ to make it useable!!

Nokia X6 looks great. Capacitive screen… finally!

Ladies and Gentlemen we have one problem clinging to the old things you see life is about perspectives you cant get the true picture if you review something with old things that used to rock anyway the thing X6 is just an iPhone killer so please apple will release rocking things once in a while but you see Nokia is ever rocking so lets just accept and bow to Nokia supreme power
coz it rocked you it doesnt mean it rocks the world so guys just watch your words coz your iphone is a kid on the internet mobile device market
