Recently Google had a Gmail blackout effecting people particularly in the US. A limited amount of people were entering their logins and passwords, but not getting access to their Email Inbox. Instead, the only thing that was showing up was an error message.
In response to countless criticisms of the online status of Google web applications (most recently Gmail), the search engine giant has created an app status page. This page shows a list and online status of Google related online applications such as Gmail, Calendar, Gtalk, Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, Google Presentations, Google Sites, Google Video, and other various online products related to “Google Apps”.
This website also provides the latest information on Google App Status information, telling you when they expect outages, maintenance, and system problems etc.
As mentioned earlier, this recent Google website comes after their services such as Google Calendar and Gmail had been going offline with no information of what the problem is. This new website definitely solves some of those issues.

Thanks for the link, Aryeh
Note to OP - when blogging about a website - be professional enough to insure you post a link to that site. It just makes sense.

Sorry about that,
I did originally have the link on but it somehow disappeared. The Wordpress control panel has been buggy lately, especially on Lockergnome.
Again, I apologize
