New Division, New League, New Experience, New Records

Hey gang! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted here on Lockergnome, or even on my personal blog at www.bowler4ever.co.cc, but I want to let you guys know that I have joined an adult league at my local bowling center, and boy am I enjoying life in the “grownup” leagues…and kicking butt there, too! Currently after 4 weeks, I have a 230.31 average (something I’ve never done before), I hold the high game with someone else (300, which is a perfect game, and my first. I will get more into detail of this in a minute.), I, as of right now, hold the high series for 4 games at 968 (239, 279, 258, 192), and second highest in average. Since this is an adult league which is sanctioned by the USBC, there will be money involved, so I know for a fact that I will get something for my feats, other than my 300 game jacket.

So, for my 300 game, oddly enough, it came in the first game in the first week of the league, and boy what a shocker that was! The first six strikes (out of 12) were pure luck, and, honestly, I probably shouldn’t have had them! But, a small adjustment later and I was hitting the pocket perfectly. Now, a few weeks before I shot the 300, I had a 297, so when I came up in the last ball, I knew exactly how I felt when I had the 297, so this time, I was more calm and I took it in stride just like my other shots; and I obviously got it! I’m hoping that in a few weeks I’ll be getting my 300 gear, and I can’t wait to see it!

So far, this is what I have shot:

Week 1: 300, 194, 196, 226 (916) - 229.00 average

Week 2: 230, 193, 214, 245 (882) - 220.50 average for the night, 224.75/season

Week 3: 239, 279, 258, 192 (968) - 242.00/night, 230.50/season

Week 4: 233, 253, 220, 213 (919) - 229.75/night, 230.31/season
