I am not who I used to be before I worked there, and I will never be the same. The old me is completely tarnished. I only hope and pray that I can get the job(s) at Apple, Inc., because they are my last hope of getting a new job and getting out of BK, and I can feel a little more like myself. Also, if I get the job at Apple, I know I will be getting more hours, which means more money, which means I can return to bowling again… but until then, my bowling days are done.

Hey again. Bowler4Ever here with some great news! I’m graduating to a Mac for college! Here are 5 reason why it’s time for a Mac.

1. Better software. There are a TON of programs out there for the Mac, not just the PC. I’ve noticed that the programs on a Mac look better, are easier to use, and they simply make for a better experience.

2. Crashing…minimized and closed down on a Mac. PCs are a pain when it comes to crashing and BSOD’ing. Macs rarely Kernel Panic and programs are less likely to crash on a Mac. Perfect!

3. Better OS. Mac OS X Leopard is a great OS. Very smooth, easy to use, and perfect for someone who can’t stand Windows anymore!

4. Windows + OS X = Perfection. I have a ton of games for the PC and Word I have for the PC. Bootcamp on Mac OS X will EASILY help me dual-boot Windows XP and Mac OS X Leopard with ease. Plus, it has the Windows drivers so you can burn those to a disc. VERY handy!

5. Got a ? Go to the Apple Store’s Genius Bar! Since when did companies like Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Microsoft do that!? I mean, come on. You can’t beat that!

BONUS TIP: The education discount + free iPod is PERFECT! (Personally, I’m getting the iPod Touch).

Harvey Korman was one of the funniest people I have ever seen perform live on the planet. He, along with Tim Conway, are, in my opinion, the Dynamic Duo of modern comedy. Their skits have inspired today’s comedians, they made millions of people collapse on their living room floors laughing, and they turned the world upside down.

Harvey Korman could never hold in his laughter. In the Dentist sketch (which is by far the funniest sketch, in my opinion) Korman has a sore tooth which needs to be extracted. So Conway proceeds to numb Korman up….Instead, he stabs HIMSELF 3 times. In the hand, in the leg, then in the head. During that period of time, Korman is just dying of laughter in the dentist chair.

He died of an earlier complication he had a few months ago. I’ll be honest, I nearly cried when I found out the news. He was a riot when I saw him live with Conway. My parents are huge fans of them. He will be sadly missed.

RIP Harvey Korman.

2. Horror stories. It’s the perfect environment! 1 giant flashlight and some candles just add to the atmosphere. Creep out the kids! Make them have nightmares for the next 2 weeks!

3. Do a talent show…or even improv! Make it a fun night with the kids, you might just exhume their inner talents!

4. Make scary sounds throughout the house. Give everyone goosebumps! I love doing stuff like that. Creeps the heck out of my cousins.

5. Get some sleep. It’s quiet! Get some shut-eye. Can’t see anything with your eyes open OR closed anyway, so…why not?

I know what you’re thinking, how can the weather and bowling be said in the same sentence?

Well, the fact is…bowling is greatly affected by the weather in several ways. If you don’t understand, I’ll put down a couple of things that can be affected by the weather.

1. The wood (pins, lane, approach) : Humidity affects wood. The wood gets more dense and heavy when the environment is muggy and raw. It’s harder to make good shots in this environment because the pins suddenly become heavy. The lane can expand and contract (unless it’s synthetic) from this moisture and it can make the oil more slick and the ball will just keep sliding and sliding and sliding……. For the approach: Have you noticed that you stick more at the line when it’s raining or it’s a humid day? Well, the approach is very tacky in this weather. Be careful and put some sliding powder on!

2. The body: On a humid day, the body feels heavy and sticky from the air, sometimes you can even feel sick. On a humid day, I suggest taking a nap and only drink water, cold water, during humid weather. Your body will feel energized and invigorated from the cold water. A small sip after every frame usually does the trick. After a game, take a couple good gulps (or maybe burps, too!) and simply relax until your turn…but don’t fall asleep!

Hello everyone. This is another LockerBlog and this one is about the new enthusiastic bowler (whether it be a little kid or a senior citizen).

Hello everyone. This is another LockerBlog and this one is about the new enthusiastic bowler (whether it be a little kid or a senior citizen).

Tip #1: Know your shoe size! You need special shoes to bowl in, as street shoes can damage the approach. If you don’t know, check inside your shoe for a tag or the bottom part of the shoe.

Tip #2: After you get your lane, look for the bowling ball that weighs the perfect amount for you and make sure it fits your hand!

a) Big help! Whatever your body weight is, take 10% from it. That would be the weight of your ball. BUT, if it’s too heavy, keep going a pound lighter until it feels somewhat decent for you.

b) Big Help! Don’t EVER get the tightest fit for you. If you’ve checked out YouTube, people have launched balls into the ceiling…and clocks! Also, never get balls with the fingerholes too big…you don’t want to get a broken foot! Make sure it’s snug, but still loose enough for you fingers!

Tip #3: NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN THE BOWLING AREA! There’s a reason why those signs are all over the place. What happens if you spill soda all over the approach? You stick! sugary carbonated water turns into a sticky syrup that is a PAIN to clean off the approach and the shoes!…And if you fall and hurt yourself…it’s nobody’s fault but your own. Don’t even bring water down there (precautionary measures).

Tip #4: You see that black line where the gutters start? Don’t you DARE go past it! That line is called the foul line and what it does is a) Lets you know that you went too far down and b) saves you from injury. Why? Because after that line there is a ton of oil that goes the rest of the way down the lane a certain distance. That oil is clear and very slippery and you WILL get hurt!

Tip #5: Bowler’s Courtesy. Now I know you’re new to the game and all that, but league bowlers (such as myself) HATE it when people just rush up right beside or even in front of them and bowl. It’s very agitating and dangerous! Bowling balls weigh up to 16 pounds and if yo get smacked by one of those suckers, you’re going to get some broken bones!

Quick Tip (#6): If you’re bowling on the first or last lane of the bowling center, do NOT go down that aisle and knock down the pins that way. Why? It’s dangerous and you can get kicked and banned from the center. It’s happened! So don’t do it!

Enjoy your day and GO BOWLING!

They drain a laptop’s battery too fast, along with other USB devices plugged in.

If the fan itself comes off, those LEDs are basically no good unless you can get the copper wiring back in its place.

Fan speed varies, not a good thing.

Sure, it may be $10, but it’s not worth it. Bad decision on my part

Hi guys, thought I’d decide to make my own own top 5 tips on the sport of bowling, so I hope you’ll enjoy it! (This applies to the bowling enthusiast, the league bowler, or the person who just wants to get better!)

Tip #1: Don’t rush! I recently had to switch the way I bowled a little due to the fact that I was going too fast!

Tip #2: Don’t lose your temper! You’ll begin to really bowl a lot worse and you’ll look like a fool because everyone is staring at you

Tip #3: Pay attention! If it’s your time to bowl and you don’t know it…you might lose your frame if that’s the case.

Tip #4: Know your equipment! Know its limitations before you bowl in that league and get to know the ball a bit.

Tip #5: Enjoy yourself! Be happy and have a positive attitude. It helps you keep your focus so you can do better.

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
