Mark Cuban is an idiot

BLOCK P2P TRAFFIC , PLEASE

As a consumer, I want my internet experience to be as fast as possible. The last thing I want slowing my internet service down are P2P freeloaders. Thats right, P2P content distributors are nothing more than freeloaders. The only person/organization that benefits from P2P usage are those that are trying to distribute content and want to distribute it on someone else’s bandwidth dime.

Those are the opening lines of Mark Cuban’s open letter to ISPs. Yep, this billionaire mogul, who as far as I know does nothing besides compete on Dancing With the Stars and get angry at refs from his court side seat, wants ALL P2P traffic blocked. Apparently Mr. Cuban has no understanding of the need for P2P traffic, whether it be for the newest linux distro or for new World of Warcraft add ons. I use various linux distros on my cheap eMachines PC, and rely on torrents for the newest updates when they come out every 6 months or so.

So Mr. Cuban why don’t you stick to basketball and go right ahead and live in your Windows/Apple world, and shut the hell up about P2P, oh and stop calling me a freeloader will ya! I really can’t say anything else, so if you care to read the letter, or the Ars Technica post on it go right ahead.

Not to mention that he has financed several anti-American movies (Google, “Redacted”).

He is a rich secular-progressive Liberal who wants to use big business and big government to run your life.
