Not even five minutes I wrote the last post on scams by Computer Repair services I found this on Ars Technica, and it is one that really makes you stop and go “WTF?”:
Geek Squad trip lands child porn “trafficker” in slammer for 10 years
Man, this is terrible. This dude first had child porn, and secondly he didn’t delete the stuff off the computer before he watched into Best Buy and said “Its not working, fix it, and oh don’t mind the child porn”. The article doesn’t state how the Squader found the files, but 130 files is kind of hard to find (especially for a guy like this), but maybe have been he was snopping looking where he shouldn’t have been? Either way, the businessman has 135 months in jail and 10,000 benjamins to fork over. That’ll teach you to cross state borders with child porn and then trust the geek squad to not find it.
