How to make custom ringtones for iPhone

Above is a video I created showing how you can (with Windows XP) create custom ringtones and put them on your iPhone/iPhone 3G. This is a much simpler and much cheaper way of doing it than paying Apple $1/song and $1/:30 second clip of that song.  I’m also taking  .50¢ donations for those who would be so kind. I figure one time donation of .50¢ for unlimited ringtones beats paying Apple $2/1 ringtone.

Great video! Thanks!

Using these techniques I have created a bunch of stupid, wacky, gross RTs. I am giving them away for free, a new one each day, at http://www.crazytoney.com

Nice. You should get a free download of Camtasia for PCs, it lets you create screen recordings and they look nice.

Great Thanks, Very Useful video. I am able to add the custom ringtone in Iphone.

thanks for the video help alot 2 thumbs up bro

Hey blitz I need your help. I followed your directions but I am unable to have the success you’ve encountered. I am on firmware 1.1.4 using the latest version of iTunes.

Everything goes fine until the step where I am instructed to paste the copied aac file onto the desktop. The file pastes just fine, however, it does not list the file as an ‘m4a’, it simply lists shows the song title and artist. When I attempt to add the ending ‘.m4r’ it does nothing other than alter the file name and thus I am unable to add it to the ringtone section on my itunes.

Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions you are willing to share are greatly appreciated!!

Nevermind… I figured it out.

Thanks a ton!!!!

hey eddie, i’m having the same issue you had. what did you do to correct it?
