Last Saturday we lost Anna “Lorraine” Brooks. She passed on due to complications of a respiratory infection. She volunteered to be put on a ventilator, but when it became clear that she was not improving, her doctors and family made the decision to remove the ventilator. She passed 20 minutes later. She had made it clear that she did not want a prolonged time of life-support. These last few weeks were very hard on her as she is very independent and self-supporting.

Lorraine was someone that would do anything for anyone at anytime. We need more people like her not less. I’ve known her since my mother and her were roommates, about 20 years I think. She always had love in her heart and food on the table. She did not show her age at all as she was jovial with everyone and enjoyed everyones company. Even those she disagreed with. She also enjoyed cooking, especially the bar-b-cue, and being the host of the party. She lived a long and productive life, it’s very unfortunate that it had to end this way

We are having a “Life Celebration” here, the evening of July 1st. Anyone is welcome to stop by for good food and some friendly chat. Because that’s what Lorraine would do. I’d like to thank everyone in advance for their thoughts and prayers.
