Server 2008 Free Trial

Say what you will about Microsoft. When someone offers a free trial, you gotta love it.

Microsoft has offered trial versions of their servers for quite some time. And everyonce in a while, I’ll download and install latest version which happens to be Windows Server 2008, and Exchange Server 2007 SP1. Granted these are time limited versions at 60 days. But Microsoft allows you to extend your trial period to 240 days. So if you have a computer laying around and would like to tryout Server 2008 and Exchange, here is your opportunity.

It’s easy to see why Microsoft has surpassed the Linux operating system as the server of choice. By offering this “trial” and then people or businesses get dependent on it. So don’t run your business with this. Just use it to “evaluate” the software and see if it’s something you would like to buy. I’ve always preferred Linux servers, but you may not. And that’s alright with me. Something that is always free is better than something that is free for now and pay for later.
