So What Exactly Is An iPhone ‘Bumper’?

Posted by on Jul 16, 2010 | 6 Comments

If you missed the Steve Jobs news conference this morning you can view the entire video linked below. What Apple is going to do is offer everyone who has purchased an Apple iPhone a free ‘bumper’, that solves the reception problem. Here is what it states on Apple’s site:

iPhone 4 Bumpers are currently unavailable for sale.

Apple will offer a free iPhone 4 Bumper or other select cases to iPhone 4 customers. Details on how to order a free Bumper or case will be available soon on apple.com.

Made of durable rubber and molded plastic, the two-tone iPhone 4 Bumper fits snugly around the edges of your iPhone 4 and gives it a splash of color. It’s a fun and unique way to personalize your iPhone 4.

What I found surprising is that Apple charges $29 for these bumpers. As usual Apple does over charge for their accessories. I just bought a leather case for my phone that clips onto my belt for $8. LOL

Comments welcome.

Free case for everyone was a good move by Apple. It doesn’t cost them that much in terms of all the phones have sold. However Apple is good about customer and developer support.!!

Ah yes, but is it government tested to be at least proof against a 10 MPH collision?

      Hi Joseph,
      Thanks for the laugh. LOL
