Own An Apple iPhone 2G? Throw It In The Trash!

Posted by on Apr 12, 2010 | 5 Comments

A reader sent an email to the head of Apple, Steve Jobs, asking a rather simple question. Will Apple support the iPhone 2G? The answer was short and simple from the head honcho. ‘Sorry, no.’ Which should come as no surprise to any of us. With the new phones already selling like hotcakes, why would Apple want to continue to support the old technology?

Here is the email conversation, if you can call it a conversation:

I say: “Only 3 years old and you have to trash it?”
They say: “Battery is about dead anyway and it’s not user changeable.”
I say: “You actually bought this thing and knew you couldn’t change the battery?”
They say: “You don’t understand, it’s just soooooo cool!”
    I say: “*%#%^&^*$ idiots.”

    Doesn’t matter anyways.

The Sheeple keep lining up like Lemmings for the next new (and shiny!) thing – so why pump any money into supporting technology from last year/month/week…

Believe it or not guys I still own an apple iPhone 2G… Works great, battery life is still good and I am considering of upgrading to the new what is it? “4G”???
Because the speedier features of the 3G and 3GS as well as the faster internet weren’t enough for me to upgrade at the time. But the new iPhone 4.0 OS WON’T be available for the 2G I am like the features such as multitasking and a whole host of other features, so 2G users it’s time to upgrade, give it to someone that never had an iPhone before or any APPLE product. Trust me they will be happy you did..
