Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 – Reviewed

Yipes! I had to rewrite the entire article concerning my review of the Microsoft wireless mobile mouse model 4000. Somehow the original article lost its linking so I deleted it and I am starting over once again. About two weeks before Christmas my old mobile mouse died, but fortunately I had a standard mouse in my bag of tricks. I did replace the mouse with a new Microsoft wireless mobile mouse 4000 in black which I bought on Amazon for $25.99.

I am very pleased with the performance of the mouse and according to its specifications, battery life should be about 10 months. I’ve only had the mouse for about a month so that claim I can not verify. However I can say that the mouse is great and there is no lag. If you have had a wireless mouse that lags then you know what I am talking about.

I have a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000 and it works like a dream. I’ve had it for about a year and it has been flawless. Battery life is beyond exceptional , i may have changed/recharged my batteries once since i’ve owned it.

For 25 buck go buy one for your home computer or just out of sheer principle.

Wireless mouse is based on Bluetooth technology, the mouse is a snap to set up. The included instructions are comprehensive and easy to understand, and it took us less than five minutes to install.I just works amazing.I already have this for my new laptop.

I have to replace the battery on mine approx every 2 weeks which just sux and is no where near what manufacturer says is expected battery life. Maybe mine is broken and I need to return it if in fact people are getting better battery life out of theirs?! Other than this pricey problem (26 batteries a year ends up at what I paid for the damn thing) , I love the ease of use/setup and it really does work on most any surface.

      Hello Karen,
      2 things.
      First they mouse maybe defective.
Second, if you are changing batteries when the software states ‘you mouse signal is weak’, or something like that, it is an error.
I turned the message off after changing batteries several times. I can go for several months with one battery.

My wireless mobile mouse 400 goes a through battery every three weeks. (I do shut it off when not in use and at night.) After about six months the rubber around the scroll wheel expanded and it only works sometimes. Black side trim is coming loose, also. Beware of this wheel!! I’m getting a new one of a different ASAP.
