You may recall that I had to send my wife’s Toshiba laptop back fro repairs. It all started with the system causing errors and finally with a no boot situation. When one sends back a computer for repair there are always those thoughts in the back of your mind if the repair will be made properly. In this case the hard disk was replaced and reimaged and all appears well.

Kudo’s to Toshiba for a quick and painless repair. The entire process. including 2nd day air shipping took exactly 8 days. However, I sincerely hope that I do not need their services again. LOL

Now I have to remove all of the crap and

What has your experience been getting a PC repaired?

It’s nice to it’s up and running for her, in time for Christmas. It’s also nice to know, for reference, that Toshiba is a reputable company.

    Hi Buffet,
    A timely repair it was!

I was one of those lucky people that HP allowed to purchase a dv9700 laptop after the company knew they using the flawed NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS video card. Sure enough, 8 months into the warranty, the card failed. After a three day run around from the boyz in India (remember, HP, as did Dell, knew these were bad cards), they finally gave me an RMA.

I did get the computer back in about 8 days. They replaced the video card, they claimed they replaced the LCD, but I don’t believe they did, and, unbelievably, they wiped the hard drive and re-imaged giving my computer the god awful stupid name of “test” which I cannot get rid of (yes, I HAVE renamed the computer but “test” just won’t go away!).

The best part? They put another one of the bad NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS cards back in. I’m just waiting for the black screen again….

Another HP computer in my future? I think not…
