Sharp 46″ 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV – $699.99 – Is This For Real?

I have seen quite a few Black Friday advertisements offering some deals on HDTVs. But some of the products being sold are off brand or lower cost brands, So when I saw this sale on a Sharp 46″ 1080p 120 Hz HDTV for $699, I had to stop and take a look. According to blackfriday.info they are listing that Newegg will have this deal on Black Friday.

On the Newegg site they describe the HDTV as:

Newegg lists the HDTV at $1,299. So selling it at $699 seems like a steal. But what do you think? Is this ad for real?

Comments welcome.

No reason to have an HDTV if you have Comcast.

They finally add 7 HD channels after the technology has existed for at least a decade, and the channels suck.

Nothing more than a token offering to beer bellied NASCAR fans.

Are you going to try to buy one?

Hi Buffet,
I sure am tempted. But I don’t know if my wife would be very happy. We just purchased two new Panasonic Plasma TV’s last year. I must say that both of the TV’s provide us with a great picture in HD.

But from what I have read, Sharp makes one of the better LCD’s and priced at $699 for a 1080p HDTV is a great price.

I’m just unsure if the ad from the source I quoted is accurate or not. It also didn’t indicate how many units Newegg would have in stock.

Regards, Ron

Hi Ryan,
I hear you my friend. I dumped cable about two years ago and haven’t looked back.

actually I looked up the specs on a diffrent website, the contrast ratio is only 2000:1 that would be why it’s selling for so cheap :)

What Do You Think?
