Because of an incident in New York City last year, in which one person was killed and a few significantly injured, Wall Mart will be opened 24 hours. So you don’t have to rush the door as soon as it opens, not that I care much as I don’t do Wall Mart. I do however, care about the peoples lives during a stampede. I am also concerned that some of these people’ find it necessary to subjugate themselves to this “treatment”on a holiday waiting for a store (Wall Mart no less) to do something at 5:00AM.. Why not sleep in to say 10:00AM and if you feel the need to shop the day after thanksgiving (never mind that the day should be spent with friends and family, hardly fighting for space with strangers) you can order stuff online in your undies. There are “Black Friday” deals to be had there as well, usually better ones that are in stock and not come ons.

Honestly Gary Bing, I’d be hard pressed to find a deal like that HP laptop that is featured at a local store (or a site that wouldn’t charge shipping). Using an online laptop value calculator gadgetvalue.com) it judged the computer to be worth $577 to $600. I could buy one on Friday and turn around and sell it for a profit of $200. Any way you look at it, that’s a deal.

Got to Walmart at 5:30, still too late for the $198 eMachine laptop deal. With no customer limit, I saw many people with five, six, eMachine laptops in their carts while in line.
When I got home on a hunch – I checked eBay. Sure enough there they were – “New eMachine laptop, in box, never used!” and in some cases photographed with the Walmart receipt taped to it!!!!
Can’t be too pissed, more power to those who want it more – yawn – I’m going back to bed!!!

My husband and I played by the rules and got played by Walmart, no more Mr and Mrs Nice Guy! Now I know that if I want a deal from them I have to cheat. So be it in this economy. We really wanted the laptop that was mentioned for $298 because we really need it and can’t really afford a lot right now. But, that’s the beauty of America right? That’s what the constitution is all about! Freedom to do what ever you want, short of harming someone’s body and property. You play by the rules and you get played.

What are you on about? I got to Walmart at 11:30 pm, and waited in line until 5:00 am, with a ticket.
I “played by the rules” and I got the laptop easy breezy.

THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY BEGAN GIVING THE COUPONS OUT AFTER MIDNIGHT THURSDAY,THAT IS A RIPOFF.THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID AT 5:00A.M. IF THEY WERE GOING TO LET THE PUBLIC GET IT AFTER MIDNIGHT.WALMART NEEDS TO GET THEIR STORY STRAIGHT BEFORE THEY PUBLISH IT.THEY WERE PEOPLE PUSHING A BUGGY AND PULLING ONE AND THEY HAD ALL ITEMS THAT WERE ON SALE.I DIDNOT’ GET ANY ITEMS THAT I WENT FAR AND THEY SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST A HUNDRED OR MORE OF EACH ITEM TO HAVE A SALE LIKE THAT SO NO ONE WILL GET HURT,BUT I DON’T GUESS WALMART CARES WHETHER YOU GET HURT OR NOT.THEY SHOULD INFORM THEIR WORKERS THAT THEY CANNOT LET PEOPLE STARTING GETTING THE SALE ITEMS TILL IT IS 5:00A.M.WHERE EVERYONE THAT GETS THERE HAS A CHANCE TO GET SOME OF THE ITEMS.BAD PUBLICITY ON WALMART
