Hell I can BUILD a computer with better specs for a hell of a lot cheaper than these crooks. I hope the FTC bites these people in the ass for what they do to people.

First off I work in Consumer Sales for Dell. I just saw this ad and started laughing. The models they have on their commercial we haven’t sold in 2+ years. I went to their website and looked into their ‘high performance’ systems. The $2200 laptops they have, we sell for $449. No joke. Their $1800 desktops, $400. My phone has the same amount of RAM as their ‘basic models’. I understand people’s credit isn’t always great, but seriously there is no way that anyone should purchase from this company. If you consider buying from them, please reconsider. If you spend $2000 on a $449 computer you probably aren’t smart enough to use one, so don’t waste your money.

It’s Blue Hippo all over again. Don’t even think about it. The phone number at a place I used to work had somehow gotten on Blue Hippo’s phone list and for a while I was getting a call from them every week. I eventually started playing games with the telemarketers trying to see how long I could drag out the conversation. I gave them tons of false information, including FTC addresses and phone numbers for US Attorneys, etc. I even went so far as to use the name of a former US drug czar. It way pretty amusing, especially when I acted like I had a case of mild dementia. In the process of messing with these people I became very familiar with the anatomy of the scam. Being a professional technology guy, it was pretty obvious that they were selling over priced junk using predatory sales and financing models.

I don’t have to think twice about it. Tronix Country == Blue Hippo. Period. There should be no debate.

And, in response to the Tronix Country employee above, if your company has been in business for 10, why was your domain name only registered in 2007? Lies, lies and more damnable lies from the same damn con artists.

Yeah, when I saw this commercial, I immediately thought of Blue Hippo as well. I’m sorry for the people that fell for this scam, but to me, it’s obvious that it is a scam. I mean, look at the merchandise they are offering; they all look cheaply made or from like 10 years ago or something. People should look up the history of companies first before they actually call them.
