After Thanksgiving Dinner, Head On Over To Walmart

Walmart is going to be open all 24 hours on Thanksgiving Day in the hopes of alleviating some of the crowds that have caused problems in the past. You may recall that last year a security guard was crushed to death when a crowd of shoppers trampled him.
Though shoppers will still have to wait until 5:00am to get at those door busters and cheap prices, at least the masses will be able to stay warm while they wait.
So what are your plans for Black Friday? Share what you have planned for the biggest shopping day of the year.
Me, I’m staying home nice and warm in my bed. LOL
Comments welcome.

My plans are identical to yours. With perhaps a couple exceptions, my Christmas shopping is usually done before Halloween. I simply do it casually, all year long. This mad, frenzied, rush that many insist on each year, with it’s accompanying added physical, emotional, and financial stress is difficult to fathom. Just another example of the lemmings, I guess.

Hello Buffet,
I also do my shopping for X-Mas during the year. In fact I am already done having the last shipment arriving last week.

I feel sorry for those who have nothing better to do on a holiday than waiting for WALL Mart to do something at 5AM. I find It equally heinous that most people don’t get the day after Thanksgiving as a paid Holiday when professional offices are closed anyway and staff have the day off without pay. Even more so Is the fact the cheapos in our government were wrangling around with Martin Luther King’s birthday by combining Lincoln’s and Washington’s as President’s Day.. How cheap. Look at Europe. (or nearly everywhere else) see how much time they get off. They don’t even believe me when I tell them we don’t get Halloween off. They wonder how we do the costume parties. I tell them a lot of us can’t given the logistics of picking up your costume and make-up etc. and getting all that done after work and squeak dinner in the midst of it all.. My 15 minutes of fame will come at my formal request for the legislature to make the day after Thanksgiving and even the Monday after a National Holiday. ( I can make the request without expecting to see it in my lifetime, but alas their are many legacies after death.)Since a certain precious party line seems to think retail sales are so important for economy they should put their proverbial money where their mouth is. I think it should be an easy “sale.”They cheaped out on President’s Day their not getting away without this one on my watch. After all most of the profits from those retail dollars “so crucial to our economy” are made on and after the ironically now called “Black Friday..”
